APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Coverage rate

Material consumption is dependent on the porosity and texture of the substrate. Normally, it is about 1.3 to 1.4 kg/m² for a 1.0 mm film thickness .

• l Substrate preparation: The substrate must be clean, dry, sound and free of rust, paint, grease, oil and laitance. New concrete should be cured not less than 28 days depending on the curing rate of the concrete. The moisture condition of the concrete surface shall be less than 5% and sufficiently dry to prevent vaporization of moisture and blistering during application. All defects in concrete surfaces, cracks, delamination, and spalled areas shall be repaired. All protrusions, ridges, trowel marks and sharp edges shall be removed.
• Detailing work should be done prior to application of the waterproofing membrane.
• l Coating application: The coating should be continuously agitated until the material can be drawn free, flowing and lump free from the melter at a temperature of 120-180℃ (recommend 160-180℃).

       YHBitucoat-4000 can be installed by a single-layer coating to a minimum 1.5mm after detailing work.

     YHBitucoat-4000 can be also installed by fabric-reinforcement application. After detailing work, apply a monolithic base layer at a minimum 1.5mm thick. Immediately embed the reinforce fabric in this base layer while it is still hot and tacky, making sure to overlap the reinforcement by a minimum 50mm. Using the application squeegee to remove any trapped air from under the reinforcement. Apply a top layer at not less than 1.5mm to fully encapsulate the fabric within the hot coating. 

TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

The Product should be stored off the ground on a dry level surface with good drainage and completely protected with a weather-resistant covering. The storage temperatures should not be exceed 40°C. YHBitucoat-4000 has a shelf life of 1 year under recommended conditions. 

PRECAUTIONS

l Installation of YHBitucoat-4000 should be undertaken when precipitation has not occurred during the previous 48 hours. Recommend ambient and substrate temperature is above 5℃.

l Don’t apply YHBitucoat-4000 to a frosty, damp or wet surface.

l Use flat squeegees for application, don’t use notched squeegees.

l Heating should not be exceeding 200℃ for a longer time during melting.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

The product must be handled properly. Do not handle until all safety precautions and instructions have been read and understood. Refer to product label and SDS before use. Since these products are heated to elevated temperatures, it is essential that operations be conducted safely. All personnel need to be aware of the hazards of using hot-applied materials and safety precautions. All workers should use the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working withYHBitucoat-4000. Wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles), wear appropriate chemical resistant gloves and clothing. When handling hot material, use heat resistant gloves. Use of an impervious apron is recommended. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment.
